Roof of England Bus

Due to a lack of transport provision between Stanhope and Alston a pilot scheme was set up to provide a transport link between the railway station in Stanhope (Weardale) and the railway station in Alston (Cumbria). The first year was a success and it has been decided to run the service again; the service 100 bus will run from 7th July 2013 to 6th October 2013, every Sunday. The bus will start at Crook Market Place and will travel up Weardale to Alston railway station, calling at various visitor attractions for drop offs/pick-ups along the way.

Some of the tourist attractions the bus will service are:

• Bradley Burn Farm Shop and cafe
• Killhope Leadmining Museum
• Weardale Museum (open 2pm-5pm)
• Stanhope Railway Station (Weardale Railway)
• Alston Railway Station (South Tynedale Railway)
